McDonalds – Glasgow
Recently we were asked by one of our key clients to undertake the refurbishment of the front elevations of one of their restaurants in Glasgow. The plaster on the front elevations had begun to delaminate and as a result of this a lot of the plaster had become loose and was falling away in places. Some of the plaster mouldings were also damaged but the client only asked us to repair and not to replace the mouldings.
Following our engineers report it was decided that the sandstone cladding behind the render was not sufficiently sound to apply plaster directly to it, so we sought specialist advice and stainless steel metal lathing was fixed to the sandstone using 12,000 fixings and a coloured lime render was then applied in two coats. Stop beading was applied around all the windows, expansion gaps provided along the elevations and coloured mastic was inserted into the gaps between the stop beads and window mouldings.
This project took 8 weeks to complete and the client was delighted with the completed works.
